Live olive shells on Daytona Beach

This morning my  husband and I started our morning on the beach. I did a five mile bike ride, while he ran it. There's always something interesting to find along the beaches in the Daytona Beach area. Today what was neat was to find so many live olive shells!

The live olive shells were dotting the beach for our whole trek this morning. There were small ones and large ones, but all of them were live. With many of them you would see their tracks in the sand where they had moved along the beach, and many you could see where they were in the process of burrowing. This was awesome! 

Being live shells, we admired them and took some pictures, and left them alone to do their thing (move along the beach and burrow in the sand). After taking our bike/run we walked in the water for a few minutes. It was only 9 in the morning, but it felt hot outside, and the water felt so cool and refreshing.
